About us
Trying to find well made, good quality wooden training equipment to use in our Kobujutsu training was so difficult that we decided to produce our own. Being as our family had four generations of experience in the wood manufacturing trade and having known and trained under the highly respected martial artist Simon Oliver Sensei for a number of years, we decided to collaborate together and produce wooden martial arts equipment that are highly functional, made using the best quality materials, as well as having an exceptional aesthetic quality. We wanted to produce items that will last a lifetime and for people to enjoy using our products in their training of weapons based martial arts.

Amy Harris
FOUNDER
Amy runs AFH Trading and as a martial artist (Karate 1st Dan JKR) and with a degree in management she understands the market well and its customers.
With an eye for perfection Amy is a stickler for quality and makes sure every order is completed the way she would like it if she was a customer!

FOUNDER
Steve is a martial artist also (Karate 5th Dan JKR) and with 40 years experience in manufacturing and IT he advises on those aspects at AFH Trading.

Jeffrey has over 60 years international experience in the wood manufacturing industry having owned and run companies in the UK and in the Far East. He advises on all aspects of the wood trade and even lends a hand in making the Tonfa themselves.
